BRIDLINGTON LINKS GOLF CLUB, SUNDAY 4th MAY 2014
Seven clubs were separated by only 9 shots after a wet morning round at Bridlington Links for the ERU Team Championship.
Scarborough North Club led on 305, Driffield were next on 308 then Hull on 310. The rest of the morning leaderboard was made up by Brough on 311 (thanks to a 1 under 71 by Mark Woodall), Hornsea on 312, Bridlington on 313 and holders Hessle on 314.
In the afternoon, Bridlington set the early pace with 614. Matt Raybould 77+78 = 155, Nick Raybould 78+71 = 149, Ryan Rawson 77+76 = 153 and Tim Moore 81+76 = 157.
Soon afterwards Driffield took over the lead with a team total of 612. Sam Dillon 80+78 = 158, Ben Emsley 78+76 = 154, Ryan Gray 73+75 = 148 and late stand in Keith Gray who anchored the team with 77+75 = 152.
It was left to Scarborough North Cliff to try and beat this total. After a 75 from Andy Allcock, Simon Boddy shot a 78 (with a 7 at the last hole), Jake Scutt added a 78 and combined with Dave Rayboulds 76 tied them on 612 leaving Driffield the champions by virtue of the better afternoon team score.
