Results of the Latest Team Championship

HESSLE GOLF CLUB, SUNDAY 3RD MAY 2015

 

Early heavy rain flooded the greens and caused the event to be reduced to 18 holes with a first tee of 12:50pm. Bunkers were deemed out of play after being flooded from the rain but the rest of the course played very well.

 

Local club Hessle soon dominated affairs with Andy Lockwood 70 (2 Under) leading the way, James Woodhead and Lewis Blanchard followed with a pair of 73s leaving 15 year old Joe Allenby with a 72 to complete a fantastic team score of 288 (level par) and a massive winning margin of 24 strokes.

 

Hornsea were 2nd on 312 - S Middleton 77, Jonny Fisher 74, Leigh Gawley 77, Rees Brown 84. Brough were 3rd on 316 - M Gibbons 85, Mark Woodall 77, Andy Woodhead 77, Mark Beany 77. Best Individual gross was Andy Lockwood 70.

At the Presentation the ERU President Cameron Thomson thanked the Hessle Captain Steve Goodwin and asked that the thanks of the East Riding Union be passed onto the Greenstaff and Professional for their efforts for making the course playable in the afternoon
